Lancea All Wet!

We just received this video from the owner of Lancea. Dave purchased Lancea earlier this year and as promised he got her in the water.

Congratulations Dave!

Below is a video of Lancea being sailed on Cayuga Lake near Ithaca, New York.

Another square meter enthusiast spotted her on the hard in April and provided the photos below.

I visited Ithaca, NY last April 2015 and saw this boat (see attached). Looks like a Square Meter? The brass nameplate over the companionway says Knud Reimers and the manufacturer. I left my business card and a note for the owner, but never got a call.

  1. Hi John Ball,
Sorry I didn’t reply to your note. I had just taken delivery of Lancea and was being a little dismayed at all the attention I was getting all of a sudden. Guess I should have expected that. 8)
It’s been great getting her ready and then actually under sail!
    Cheers,

    • Hi Dave,
I am new to this website but am in the process of purchasing Sonja (22Sq meter). Would you be willing to take a phone call or email to discuss a few things? Thanks for your consideration.

      • Congratulations Kevin! Sure. I see you’re wondering about a trailer. For Lancea I have a fine custom one that was built in the Thousand Islands, ca. 2000. I think the company specialized in race cars.

    • Hi Dave!

Thanks for the note. Sorry I didn’t see your post until now. Congratulations on the boat! Look like Lancea sails nicely.

  2. Fun to see these boats again. I grew up sailing on the 22 Square “Brita” US-10 in Chicago where we had a pretty good fleet of them back in the 1960s. Won a lot of races on “Brita”.

      Bill,

Is there a contact number that I could reach you with some questions that I have regarding my new boat?

      Kind Regards,

      Kevin
